Alana Frederick is an attorney serving as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In this role, her primary duties include performing legal research and drafting opinions for en banc and high-profile federal appeals filed in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida, and supervising a team of young attorneys working on federal panel appeals. She also teaches as an Adjunct Professor at Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham. Alana earned her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from The University of Alabama and her Juris Doctorate from The University of Alabama School of Law. Following law school, Alana practiced pharmaceutical defense litigation at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings for several years before beginning her work at the Eleventh Circuit. Alana is passionate about giving back to the local community. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Junior League of Birmingham and The Nature Conservancy of Alabama. She has also served on the Birmingham Landmarks Junior Board, The Rotaract Club of Birmingham Executive Board, and the Birmingham International Center Junior Board. She is also a member of the Birmingham Committee on Foreign Relations and is actively involved in the PTO for both of her daughters. In her spare time, Alana enjoys traveling, sewing, baking, and spending time with her husband, Scott, and her two daughters, Evelyn and Kirklyn.
