April Benetollo joined Momentum as Director of Marketing and Development in 2016 and became the new Chief Executive Officer in November 2017.
Prior to joining Momentum April was Senior Vice President of Marketing at Daxko, a successful Birmingham-based software company serving the nonprofit health and wellness sector. As a member of Daxko’s executive team since 2000, April held positions in General Management, Marketing, Sales, Product Strategy, HR and Career Development, all reporting to the CEO.
April graduated magna cum laude from The University of Alabama with a BA in International Studies and a minor in French. She was selected to study one year at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and Smith College as part of the National Honor Student Exchange. Following graduation April worked in France, Germany and Brazil before returning to the United States and pursuing a career in Public Relations, Marketing and Business Development.
April is a Momentum alumna and has served on the MAP executive board for two years, as well as Chair of the Table Sales Committee for the 2016 Momentum Conference. Other board involvement includes a seat on the executive board of TechBirmingham, public relations committee member for TechBirmingham, a founding board member of TechAlabama, and the Marketing and Sales Advisory Board for the UAB Collat School of Business. April is a frequent public speaker on leadership development, employee engagement, healthy teams, diversity, emotional intelligence, public speaking, marketing, positioning, and brand awareness.
April grew up in Forest Park and graduated from Ramsay High School, where she studied for semester abroad in Paris, France. She is fluent in French and an enthusiastic francophile. She enjoys travel, nature, reading, community work, dancing, and sailing. Currently April, her husband Emmanuel, and their two children live in Vestavia.
