Kathy G. Mezrano

Kathy G & Company, Inc. was built on a foundation of love for food, entertaining and a great gift for presentation.  Kathy G. Mezrano, the President and founder of the company has always had a love for giving parties.   Her love of entertaining eventually led to her success as one of the most popular caterers and event planners in Alabama for the past 25 years.

It wasn’t until 1983 that she opened a business in Hoover called Kathy G’s Catering which not only did off premise catering but served a gourmet lunch.  After a few years of renting kitchen space she decided to build her own facility.  Her husband Louis decided to join the company at that time and together they built a permanent home for the growing business.  From that point on, she acquired exclusive contracts with some premiere venues in the city.  Starting with The Historic Donnelly House and Gardens, Kathy G & Company served as exclusive food service to

The Birmingham Museum of Art, The Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center and Park Lane in

Mountain Brook.  The company also provided food service for the Zoo Lodge at The Birmingham Zoo, The McWane Center and restaurant G in downtown Birmingham.

Kathy has been a member of the International Special Events Society, National Caterers Association and has served on the board of the International Caterers Association. She has won

Industry awards at the national level as well as given seminars and presentations at national conferences.  She has appeared on local television and her work has been featured in numerous magazines and trade publications.

She recently published a cookbook for entertaining called Food, Fun and Fabulous.

Kathy is a panelist for Taking Charge of Your Career
