Developing strong mentorships and sponsorships is key to advancement and success for women leaders, yet many face barriers in accessing these connections. This session will provide strategies for cultivating meaningful mentor/sponsor relationships that will enhance your career development. We will discuss tactics for getting connected to high-level leaders invested in advancing diverse leaders, identifying the right mentors based on your goals, moving beyond surface-level career advice, and what to look for in an impactful mentor or sponsor.

About Katrina

Katrina Watson is the Senior Vice President of Community Impact at United Way of Central Alabama. Prior to United Way, Katrina served as President and Executive Director of The Literacy Council of Central Alabama. Katrina is a 2023 graduate of Momentum’s Executive Leaders Program and currently serves on the board of Momentum. She is a graduate of Alabama Leadership Initiative and Leadership Birmingham. Katrina earned her bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Master of Public Administration from UAB, and Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University.
