Lauren Roden

Executive Director

As Executive Director of the American Heart Association’s Birmingham Division, Lauren Roden leads a team of staff and volunteers who are committed to the organization’s mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Lauren’s team is responsible for educating Alabamians on how to eat better and stay active, how to recognize warning signs for heart attacks and strokes, how to save lives through CPR training, and how to advocate for healthier communities and workplaces. Prior to her work as Executive Director, Lauren directed the local Go Red for Women campaign, which educates women about their particular cardiovascular disease risk factors and empowers them to take charge of their heart health.

Lauren has a Master’s Degree from Vanderbilt University Divinity School and Bachelor’s Degree from Lambuth University. She is a member of the PARCA Roundtable and serves on the Board of Trustees at Camp Sumatanga.  Currently, Lauren resides in Homewood, Alabama and enjoys traveling with her husband, Charlie.
