Natasha Shumpert

A native of Tupelo, MS., Natasha P. Shumpert is a Social Services Coordinator with the Jefferson County Department of Health. With 18 years of leadership in state/local government and nonprofit settings, Natasha has been instrumental in executing strategies to restore social justice and enhance access to quality healthcare for marginalized populations. She has supported thousands of clients and garnered millions of dollars in grant funds to create innovative programs, expand community awareness, and transform workplace culture. She is working alongside health department leadership to establish the first ever, office of health equity, and a hospital linked violence intervention program.
Natasha is passionate about “appreciating our most valuable assets…. people,” and specializes in cultivating high performing teams to champion organizational and community efforts. She received a Bachelor of Psychology and Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Mississippi in 2005, a Master of Social Work in 2006, and a Master of Business Administration in 2022 from the University of Alabama. Natasha identifies as a lifelong learner and in her spare time, enjoys being a wife, mother, and life coach.
