Sue Hengel serves as Director of Learning & Development for Regions, a regional bank that operates throughout the South, Midwest and Texas and is headquartered in Birmingham, Ala. She oversees a team of associates who build organizational capabilities and business effectiveness through associates by developing, implementing and managing human capital solutions which align with and support Regions’ strategies.
Her team is responsible for the development of leaders at all levels, associate engagement initiatives, talent and performance review processes, individual and team coaching, the Management Associate Program and all corporate training programs, initiatives and tools.
Prior to joining Regions in 2008, Hengel held positions with a global leadership development and career services firm as general manager and leadership development consultant, and as head of human resources for two divisions of National Service Industries, based in Atlanta, Ga.
Hengel earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University in Atlanta, Ga., and a graduate certificate from Fielding University in Evidenced Based Coaching.
Previously, Hengel served as president of the Society for Human Resource Management in both Atlanta and in Birmingham.
