Dr. Connie Hill currently serves as the CEO of Girls Inc. of Central Alabama, a position she has held since 2014. Dr. Hill has spent most of her career in direct service to women and children and has been a part of the local nonprofit community since the late 1980s. She credits her early mentors with introducing her to public service and is proud to be part of an organization that mentors the next generation of women.

Prior to her role at Girls Inc, Dr. Hill led Pathways, an agency dedicated to serving women and children experiencing homelessness. Throughout her career, some of her accomplishments include staffing United Way’s original AIDS Subcommittee, expanding domestic violence services to a rural county, and developing the first Safe Haven shelter for homeless mentally ill women in Alabama.  Her current work with Girls Inc. includes implementing a national pilot program to increase the number of young women in corporate leadership. 

Dr. Hill is deeply involved in the greater Birmingham community and has served on the board of One Roof, the Women’s Foundation of Alabama, the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ACADV), and Highlands School. She was a member of the Momentum Class 13, the Leadership Birmingham Class of 2002, and was previously named one of Birmingham’s Top Women by the Birmingham Business Journal.

Dr. Hill holds a BA from Birmingham-Southern College, an MPA from the University of Alabama and a Ph.D. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland. She is a member of Birmingham Friends Quaker Meeting. She is married to Doug Turner, and they have two children, Emma and Aubrey.
