About Amy S. Allen:
Amy Allen is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Baptist Health System, Inc. in Birmingham, Alabama. Baptist is a non-profit healthcare system providing services to the greater Birmingham community in a way that promotes the healing ministry of Christ through its 30% ownership in Brookwood Baptist Health, a joint venture with Tenet for the operation of five hospitals in the Birmingham area.
Amy was promoted to President and CEO when the joint venture was formed in October 2015. In her role, she is also responsible for strategic oversight of the Baptist Health Foundation. Prior to her promotion, Amy was most recently the Vice President, Finance and Chief Accounting Officer for Baptist from 2011-2015. She served in several other accounting/finance positions at Baptist from 1997 – 2011.
Amy received a B.S. in Accounting from Auburn University in 1990 and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Alabama Society of CPA’s.
Her current Board membership includes serving on the board and finance committee of the YWCA and serving in an Ex-officio capacity on the Baptist Health System, Baptist Health Foundation and Brookwood Baptist Health boards. Amy joined the Supervisory Committee of the Legacy Credit Union Board of Directors in January 2022.
Amy is a member of Dawson Baptist Church where she recently completed a term on the Finance Committee and has also taught Sunday school. She is also a member of the Downtown Rotary, a Sustaining member of the Junior League of Birmingham and a past member of the Service Guild of Birmingham. Amy has also served as a Visiting Allocation Team Chairman for United Way and has worked with Junior Achievement, Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels and many other local community service organizations.
Amy has been married to Tony Allen for 23 years. They don’t have children but enjoy spending time with nieces and nephews. Amy enjoys hiking, reading, traveling and spending time with family.
Amy is passionate about mentoring and coaching other individuals that she works with in the business world and about helping others in her community who are less fortunate.
