With a passion for healthcare and helping others, Amy leads the Community Relations team at Huntsville Hospital Foundation, engaging with corporate donors and government agencies to ensure funding for Huntsville and Madison Hospitals. Prior to that, Amy spent 11 years as a television news reporter and anchor, most notably at WHNT-TV in Huntsville where she received local, state and national awards for her reporting. In 2005, Amy and her husband, Chris, established the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation, in memory of their daughter, who was born 14 weeks early. Melissa’s Fund has raised $4.7 million in 18 years to buy critical, lifesaving equipment for babies in the Neonatal ICU at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children. Amy also partnered with Hospice Family Care to start the HOPE group for parents who have lost infants. Amy is a member of the Committee of 100 and a graduate of Leadership Greater Huntsville’s Management Academy (class 12) and Focus (class 10). She has served on several non-profit boards including Hospice Family Care, American Heart Association and Girls, Inc. Amy enjoys traveling with her husband, Chris, and daughters, Ann Catherine and Lily Baker, and she also loves getting lost in a good book.
