Amy Strickland
I am Birmingham native and graduate of Ramsay High School, Class of 2010. I attended UAB for both Undergrad (2014) and Graduate School (2015). Upon graduating, I worked in a for-profit health coaching company and in the non-profit space for five years before my current position at UAB. I am deeply passionate about health equity in marginalized populations as well as youth development and support. I am also passionate about patient advocacy and informed care in chronic disease management. It is my life’s dream to one day own a nonprofit that focuses on tackling deficiencies that are seen in Birmingham as it relates to family, community, support, and resources for the youth. I have been married to my husband for five years this past January and the proudest mom of boy/girl twins who will turn three in June. My husband and I met in the band at UAB and love to participate in alumni band during homecoming each year. I love all things music, comedy, and fun, and travel. I also love to read and watching a good documentary.
