April Corey joined Southern Company in 1998 as a Chemical Engineer. April progressed in responsibility to become the general manager of Design Engineering. As Design GM, April leads civil, mechanical, and electrical/instrumentation departments to deliver engineering solutions. April earned her Project Management Professional certification in 2011. April received a BS in Chemical Engineering and a MS in Environmental Engineering from the University of Alabama. April is a volunteer and Board Member with Grace House and volunteers with her dog as a Hand in Paw animal assisted therapy team. April co-leads a small group for Birmingham women in leadership roles.
