Cricket Snyder
Cricket Snyder is the Chief Compliance Officer for the Jefferson County Commission in Birmingham, Alabama. As the leader of the county’s first-ever compliance office, she oversees all compliance activities, ensuring the organization adheres to policies, regulations, and laws at the federal, state, and local levels. Cricket is responsible for establishing and implementing compliance protocols, conducting internal investigations into ethical violations, and maintaining the county’s code of conduct. Her team plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of accountability and integrity across the Jefferson County Merit System.
In addition to her compliance role, Cricket leads the Jefferson County Commission’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) initiatives. She plays a pivotal role in promoting an inclusive workplace, developing DEIB programs, and ensuring the organization’s compliance with relevant guidelines and best practices.
Cricket brings over 18 years of professional experience to her role, with a background in compliance, customer service, and supplemental staffing. Before joining the Jefferson County Commission, she held key positions at Southern Company, Southern Nuclear, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, where she led compliance initiatives in both the utility and healthcare insurance industries. Her leadership has consistently driven positive organizational change, earning her recognition from the Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ). In August 2022, she was honored as one of the BBJ’s Top 40 Under 40 for her outstanding work in the Magic City, and in December 2023, she was featured in BBJ’s Who’s Who in Diversity & Inclusion.
Cricket holds a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Services from Birmingham-Southern College and a Master of Business Administration from Strayer University. She is also a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), demonstrating her commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards.
