Emily Hynds
Dr. Emily Hynds serves as Associate Dean of the Howard College of Arts and Sciences at Samford University, Professor of Mathematics, and NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative. Prior to her current roles, Hynds served as Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. She is a proud Class 16 graduate of Momentum’s Executive Leadership Program.
In addition to her various campus responsibilities, Hynds makes it a priority to contribute to the mathematical community. She served for several years on the executive council for the AACTM (Alabama Association of College Teachers of Mathematics), including one year as president. She has held various leadership roles on the executive committee of the Southeastern Section of the MAA (Mathematical Association of America) and is currently finishing a 4-year term as the section representative to the national congress.
Hynds is an avid college sports fan and can often be found at Samford Bulldog sporting events. She and her husband Keith have two adult children, Hannah and Joshua.
