Leah Franks
Leah Franks has 23 years of experience, 16 of which have been at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama with 12 of those years in management. Leah began her career as a Software Engineer and quickly realized that coding behind a desk was not for her. The aspects she enjoyed most were more people oriented and she loved working with various customers. After working at a couple of companies, she landed in the enterprise project management office at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama and has been there ever since. Leah began at Blue Cross as a Business Consultant before quickly becoming a Project Consultant managing enterprise level projects. Within 4 years, she became a manager in the area, coaching and developing both Business Consultants and Project Consultants. In this role, she has the opportunity to work with internal customers that are managers and associates at all levels of the company as she works to provide project management resources and oversight on enterprise projects.
Leah is also very process oriented and has led the creation of several key processes within Blue Cross, including the Claims Change Control Board, BluePrint project management methodology and the Enterprise Portfolio Management project approval process. She is experienced in leading the 4 Disciplines of Execution engagements as well. Leah is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) a certified Balanced Scorecard Professional (BSP), and a Certified Scrum Master (CSM). She holds two degrees from UAB (Go Blazers!) – an MBA and a BS in Computer Science. She is also a member of the Junior League of Birmingham and active in her church.
Leah resides in Hoover with her husband and two children, Graham (14) and Adeline (11). Her current hobbies revolve around her children’s activities but she also enjoys reading, decorating, and planning trips and celebrations.
