Melanie Lewis

Melanie Lewis serves as senior vice president and chief business development officer for Encompass Health. She leads the team responsible for the growth of the nation’s largest owner and operator of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and one of the largest publicly traded companies in Birmingham. Melanie began her career at Encompass Health in 1994. Prior to joining Encompass Health, Melanie served as a vice president of development for the ambulatory surgery division of HCA and as a district hospital representative for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.
Melanie is a graduate of the Momentum Executive Leadership Program, was selected as a 2023 ‘Top Birmingham Women’ honoree by the Birmingham Business Journal and served in the 2024 class of Leadership Birmingham. She is involved in the Birmingham chapter of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and United Way of Central Alabama. Melanie has served on the Board of Directors of the local non-profit, Hand in Paw, and currently serves on the Board of Momentum. Melanie holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Webster University in St. Louis.
