Morgan Epperson is an Associate Attorney at Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. She helps employers with Government Contracting Compliance and Reporting; Pay Equity; and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Morgan advises federal contractors throughout the United States, providing practical advice and training to managers, in-house legal counsel, human resources professionals, and talent acquisition teams, and translating complex reporting and compliance obligations into best practices. She aids employers with government reporting obligations and defends construction and supply and service contractors in Department of Labor audits. Morgan helps clients create, implement, and manage legally compliant Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) programs. Morgan also advises clients on compensation best practices to prevent and defend pay discrimination claims, including partnering with statisticians to help clients conduct proactive, privileged pay audits, and advising clients on state-specific laws related to pay equity and transparency.
Morgan is a member of the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force and ODVets, ODWIN, ODAlliance, ODAble, and ODFamily. She is a frequent public speaker, blog author, and trainer. She graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law, and from the Harrah Hotel College at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
Outside of work, serves on the Executive Board of the Women Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association, and on the Junior Board of Hand in Paw, an animal-assisted therapy non-profit, and she is a member of the Military Spouse JD Network. Morgan grew up in Dothan, Alabama, but lived in Okinawa, Japan; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Tuscaloosa, Alabama before making Birmingham home. She loves to travel, watch University of Alabama football, and spend time with her 19-month-old, Bennett; her husband, Joe; her always-anxious basset hound, Harley; and her shelter-cat, Beans.
