Romissa Walton is the Deputy Director of Human Resources at Jefferson County Commission, where she and her team manage the recruiting, hiring, selection and training processes for nearly 1,800 employees. Romissa received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Montevallo and her Master of Arts degree from Birmingham-Southern College. Romissa is dedicated to serving the community. She is an Executive Board Member of Better Basics, Inc., and serves as Secretary. She is a lifelong learner, certified mediator, conflict resolution practitioner, and holds SPHR and SHRM-SCP credentials. Romissa is also a relationship builder and champion for equity and inclusion.
