Teré Edwards

Teré T. Edwards is the HR General Manager for Altec, Inc. In her role she is responsible for, overseeing the HR Regional Manager organization which supports the Altec business units. She executes the strategic priorities of HR while supporting the HR business team on tactical challenges. Teré partners with fellow GMs to support the various needs of the business.

Teré began her career as a Design Engineer at Philip Morris, USA. Later, she worked for Duracell, USA as a Manufacturing Engineer. In 2000, she began working at Altec as a Production Supervisor at Altec’s Creedmoor Facility. Eventually, Tere’ realized that she could utilize her passion for people and her engineering problem-solving skills in the Human Resources field. After three years at Creedmoor as the Human Resources Manager, she transferred to Birmingham, Alabama as the Human Resources Manager of the newly structured National Service Organization, now called the Altec Service Group. Eventually, she was promoted to the position of HR Regional Manager. She worked in Service for over 9 years before moving into the role of Compliance Manager for Altec, Inc. In her role, Teré was responsible for governmental compliance, conducting or directing internal investigations, writing, and the review of company policies. Her responsibilities also included training Managers and Supervisors on Progressive Disciplinary Actions, Investigations, and Associate Relations.

Teré is a member of several organizations, including the Society of Human Resources (SHRM), Birmingham Society of Human Resources (BSHRM), and Momentum where she currently serves on the executive board. She has held a Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification for over 13 years.

Teré is originally from Hampton, VA and is the product of a military family. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA and has an MBA from the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB). She is married to her husband Lovell and has one son, Malcolm and a boxer named Riley. Teré is an advocate for teens and is very involved in student ministry at her church. She enjoys traveling, movies, playing board games, reading, and spending time with her family.
