Wendy Hoomes
Wendy Hoomes serves as an Assistant Comptroller of Alabama Power Company, a subsidiary of Southern Company. She is responsible for all aspects of corporate accounting, including the company’s financial statements, internal controls over financial reporting and regulatory accounting.
Prior to being elected as an Assistant Comptroller in 2013, Wendy served as the Accounting Manager (2010-2013) and Tax Manager (2004-2010). Before joining Alabama Power, Wendy spent 10 years in public accounting where she provided tax services to corporate and individual clients.
Wendy earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Auburn University and is a certified public accountant. She is also a graduate of Momentum’s Executive Leadership Program and Signature Leaders Premier program.
Wendy currently serves on the board of directors for Momentum and is a member of the Finance Committee. She is a past member of the board of directors for The Women’s Foundation of Alabama where she served as Treasurer as well as the Chair for the Grants and Allocations Committee. She is also an active member of her church serving on the Administration Committee. She resides in Trussville, Alabama with her husband, Joel, and their daughter, Lilly.
