Raven Holloway speaking at the Birmingham Executive Class 21 graduation ceremony.
Last month, Raven Holloway joined Momentum as the new Momentum Works Program Manager. Raven is passionate about advancing women leaders in Alabama and is a well-connected Birmingham local, making her a great addition to our team. She’s also encouraging, strong, and a friend to everyone she meets. Her story is inspiring, and this week I sat down with her to understand the path that led her to Momentum.
Raven studied Theater at Alabama State University and says that her life was shaped by educators. She previously worked in addiction recovery at Bradford Health Services in Warrior, AL and later went on to work for the YWCA of Central Alabama as the Associated Director of Philanthropy.
She is a certified Holistic Yoga/Meditation Coach and the proud owner of WorX with Raven Holloway. WorX aims to address every individual as a whole person: mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Raven sees a connection between personal wellness and the mission behind Momentum Works. She hopes that the Momentum Works women not only grow professionally but also personally. Their spiritual, emotional, and physical health is just as important as their professional development.
“When we address just one area of our lives, the rest gets neglected. It’s all intertwined.”

The first session of Momentum Works with Raven as the Program Manager.
When asked about her “Why?” behind joining an organization that helps women achieve their goals, Raven began to think of her own mother. “I think of my mom and all of the challenges she faced, simply because she was a woman and a black woman,” Raven says. She explains that her mother experienced a lack of access to many resources she needed. She goes on to say, “It’s personal to me because as women, we just want the same opportunities to be afforded to us as any other human.”
As she oversees the Momentum Works Program, Raven wants to stand with these women and be there when times are difficult. She’s personally invested in all that they may be facing. “I see you, I hear you, and I support you,” she says.
“You are your greatest investment, and there’s nothing more valuable than you.”
Before joining our team full-time, she was featured in one of our virtual training sessions. When she came to work as our new Momentum Works Program manager, she believed that “the alignment and the timing was incredible and divine.” It’s really no coincidence that the names of two of her biggest passions are so similar: WorX and Momentum Works. It all works with Raven Holloway.
When she’s not hard at work in our Pepper Place office or encouraging others on their wellness journey, you can find Raven on her favorite street in all of Birmingham: 2nd Avenue North. Raven enjoys going to Broadway shows, traveling, food, and being a mom. We are thankful to have her at Momentum and cannot wait to see all that she contributes to the Momentum mission.
