From Rebuilding to Radiant: Danielle Foy’s Momentum Journey

For Joi Foy, the impact of Momentum wasn’t something she just experienced through work. It was something she wanted to share with the person closest to her – her mom.

Working closely with Momentum Works alumnae, Joi began to notice something familiar in their stories: resilience, unlocked potential, and confidence in themselves and their work. These were some of the same qualities she had always seen in her own mother, Danielle Foy.

Joi shared, “I knew the potential my mom had and the goals she wanted to accomplish, and I knew that Momentum Works could unlock them on another level.”

At the time, Danielle was in a season of rebuilding, both personally and professionally, trying to rediscover who she was and where she was headed. While she didn’t fully understand what Momentum was at first, she saw the passion it sparked in her daughter.

Danielle ended up missing the first application deadline, but Joi didn’t let it go.

This decision became the first chapter of a story that would change her life.

Throughout her time in Momentum Works, Danielle has found herself surrounded by a community that has challenged her in ways she didn’t think possible. What she once viewed as competition among women was replaced by something entirely different.

“I’ve been surrounded by women who uplift, who encourage, who genuinely want to see you win,” Danielle said. “And that has been healing in ways I didn’t even know I needed.”

The shift in Danielle didn’t happen all at once. But in a quiet, powerful moment during one of the program sessions, something changed.

“For the first time, I didn’t just hear words like resilient, radiant, and ready. I felt them,” Danielle said. “I saw myself differently. I believed it.”

Since then, that belief has shown up in every part of her life. “I no longer shrink,” Danielle shared. “I can look in the mirror and truly see my worth.”

For Joi, watching this transformation has been just as meaningful as experiencing Momentum herself.

“I hoped that my mom would gain her voice back,” she said. “Now I see her stepping into that fully, personally and professionally.”

Today, their connection to Momentum is something they share, a full circle moment rooted in encouragement, growth, and deep mutual respect.

“Being able to bring her into something as powerful as Momentum is just a small token of my appreciation,” Joi said.

Danielle’s advice to other women considering the program is simple: “Step out of your comfort zone, because that’s where real change begins.”

And for her, this journey is far from over.

“This is just the beginning.”
