Momentum Leaders will honor four exceptional women at the annual Woman of Impact Awards Luncheon on March 13, 2025, at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Birmingham. The awards luncheon will mark the culmination of Impact Day, an inspiring event expected to draw between 800 and 1,000 guests.
This year’s Women of Impact honorees—Bobby Bradley, Judge Agnes Chappell, Dr. Connie Hill, and Dr. Cameron Vowell—will be celebrated for their remarkable contributions to their communities and their lasting legacies in leadership. The luncheon will feature a commemorative video tribute highlighting their achievements, as well as live presentations by Momentum founder, Barbara Royal, honoring their impact.
Honorees:
Bobby Bradley (Huntsville, AL): A trailblazer in technology and business, Bobby Bradley co-founded Computer Systems Technology (CST), which provided services to the Department of Defense and NASA, among others, and later became a partner in multiple ventures. Her leadership extends into philanthropy as co-founder of the Village of Promise, a nonprofit dedicated to eradicating generational poverty. Bradley has also served on numerous boards, including the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology Foundation, and has earned accolades such as the Distinguished Service Award from the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce.
Judge Agnes Chappell (Birmingham, AL): With over 45 years of service in law and the Alabama judiciary, Judge Chappell is a staunch advocate for justice and equality. She was instrumental in establishing Birmingham’s first Domestic Violence Court and has mentored countless young people and lawyers. Judge Chappell’s work extends into community programs like “Goals and Justice Tour” and HaitiSURGE, providing critical resources to underserved communities. Her numerous honors include the 2023 Community Trailblazer Award by the NAACP Metro Birmingham..
Dr. Connie Hill (Birmingham, AL): As CEO of Girls Inc. of Central Alabama, Dr. Hill has empowered young women through innovative programs and mentorship. Her career highlights include developing Alabama’s first Safe Haven shelter for homeless mentally ill women and leading Pathways, an agency serving women and children experiencing homelessness. Dr. Hill’s impact spans decades, with involvement on boards such as One Roof and the Women’s Foundation of Alabama. She has been recognized as one of Birmingham’s Top Women by the Birmingham Business Journal.
Dr. Cameron Vowell (Birmingham, AL): An environmental scientist and passionate advocate for women’s leadership, Dr. Vowell has been instrumental in initiatives such as the Clean Air Act and the founding of the Women’s Foundation of Alabama. She has served on the Alabama Environmental Management Commission and co-created transformative organizations, including the Freshwater Land Trust and the Alabama Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. She also assisted the UAB School of Public Health in establishing the Magic City LGBTQ Health Endowed Professorship.
The Woman of Impact Awards Luncheon will conclude a full day of inspiration and empowerment. Impact Day begins with a keynote address by Alyson Van Hooser, an accomplished speaker and author known for her insights on leadership and multigenerational workplaces. Attendees will also benefit from a dynamic workshop led by Tonya Hill Mitchell, designed to equip leaders with the tools to advance their personal and professional growth.
