Last weekend, the Momentum Leadership Symposium took place at the Junior League of Birmingham, bringing together nearly 90 women for a day of personal and professional development. The event, in partnership with Prosper and sponsored by Bradley and Maynard Nexsen, offered opportunities for resume enhancements, social media consulting, professional headshots, and more.
Throughout the symposium, attendees had valuable opportunities to network with visiting partners and engage with inspiring leaders from the community. A highlight of the event was a powerful panel discussion moderated by Mildred Black, featuring a distinguished group of speakers: Kristen Powell, Anne Yuengert, Sybil L. Scarborough, and Dawn Sharff. Roz Houston also spoke about career transition and leadership. All of our speakers shared their insights on career development, leadership, and the importance of women supporting each other in their professional journeys. They also heard from some of the Momentum team, including Raven Holloway, April Benetollo, and Darla Morrison, who highlighted the value of the Mentor Matching program. Finally, participants heard from Keren Treme and Judy Woods on financial wellness and finished the event with networking with local organization partners.
